NEWLY-installed England U17 number one Rachel Perkins teamed up with university graduate David Cross to lead Circus Barton Acorn to a maximum 27-pointer over Torbay & District Medley League rivals Newton Abbot.
Nine straight wins in the evening in this match from Division Three gave the home side plenty to cheer, but their winning run was nearly ended in the final game of the night with Russell Walker and Kim Coats hanging on to beat Ronnie Leitch and Sam Hodsoll (Newton Abbot) 25-23.

Dukes sponsored Sidmouth Squash Club made it three wins out of four away fixtures with a fairly comfortable 4-1 victory over Exeter Golf & CC 4th team.
The opening rubbers resulted in the same 3-1 score lines but both victories came about in completely different circumstances.

BRIXHAM are trying a new 10-12 combination of Ross Edwards and Alex Brown in the re-arranged South West One game at Sidmouth.
Ben Lovell isn't available this week – he is at Twickenham watching England play New Zealand – which meant a gap at 10 to start with.
Brown comes into the centre at the expense of Steve Worth, who drops down to the bench.

PAIGNTON U13s knew what to expect against Newton Abbot in the Devon Cup as the All Whites were festival champions last season.
The Cherries lost 24-5 but were by no means disgraced and were probably worth more than just one try.
Paignton found themselves under pressure straight from the kick off with Newton Abbot's forwards impressive in their close support play and hard running, which soon brought a try with James Stephenson powering over the line.

CLEVEDON, playing with a gale-force wind at their backs, dominated most of the first half.
Their lineout was good and the scrum solid, and they took the lead with a well-worked blind-side move, which Joe Kaniecki finished off with a touchdown in the corner.
Ben Hazeldine hit the upright with the conversion.
